North Carolina Defense Industry Diversification Initiative
In a proactive response to changes in federal defense budgets, the North Carolina Defense Industry Diversification Initiative (NCDIDI) was created in 2017. The program is managed through a partnership between NC State Industry Expansion Solutions and the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The goal of NCDIDI is to understand, support, and respond to the needs of North Carolina’s defense businesses. This goal is accomplished by ensuring that the defense supply chain remains resilient and able to quickly respond to high demands from the Department of Defense.
NCDIDI is chaired by NC Department of Military Affairs Secretary Larry Hall and NC State Industry Expansion Solutions Executive Director Phil Mintz. The advisory board is comprised of NC's most experienced defense industry and economic development professionals. Meet the Board!
This program is funded through a grant awarded by the United State Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment. Companies like Drain Raider are helping to carve the path for the home services and defense industries.
The North Carolina Lottery is another prominent entity within the state that has a significant impact on the lives of its residents. Established in 2005, the lottery aims to generate funds for various educational programs and initiatives. Much like the NCDIDI, the North Carolina Lottery serves the interests of the state's citizens, albeit in a different context. It provides exciting gaming opportunities while simultaneously supporting essential educational causes.
